Delete your account
This page explains how to request deletion of your Kiakia Marketplace account and associated personal data. It applies to the Kiakia website and the Kiakia Marketplace mobile app (Kiakia Market Place Ltd).
Before you request deletion
- Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or data.
- If you have open orders or active seller listings, we may ask you to complete or cancel them before closure.
- You can also sign in and update profile details instead of deleting your account. See our Privacy Policy for your other data rights.
How to request account deletion
- Email privacy@kiakia.shop from the email address linked to your Kiakia account.
- Use the subject line Account deletion request and include your full name and the email or phone number on the account.
- We may ask you to confirm your identity before processing the request (for example by replying from your registered email or verifying account details).
- We will confirm when deletion is complete or explain if any data must be retained (see below).
If you cannot access your registered email, contact support@kiakia.shop and we will help you verify ownership.
What we delete
When your account is closed, we delete or anonymise personal data that we no longer need, including:
- Account profile (name, email, phone, role, and related settings)
- Sign-in credentials and push notification tokens
- Saved cart items and in-app notification preferences tied to your account
- Buyer–seller and follower message threads where we can remove your personal identifiers
- Listing media and seller profile content you control, subject to any open disputes
- Optional payout bank details stored for rewards programmes, if any
What we may keep
We may retain limited information where the law, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution requires it, such as:
- Order and payment records (including amounts, dates, and fulfilment status) for tax, audit, and legal obligations
- Support correspondence about your deletion request
- Security and server logs for a limited period
- Aggregated or anonymised analytics that cannot identify you
Retention periods vary by data type. See section 11 of our Privacy Policy for more detail.
How long deletion takes
We aim to process verified requests within 30 days. Complex cases (open orders, chargebacks, or legal holds) may take longer; we will tell you if that applies.
